Fashion has fascinated me for as long as I can remember.

As a child, I made clothes for my dolls by cutting holes in fabric and tying pieces together. Years later, as a university student, I invested 5,000 francs in Ankara fabric to create my first design. Watching a simple piece of fabric transform into something beautiful and useful brought me joy I still remember today.

Even before Ngumabi had a name, I was already personalizing fashion to suit me. I would buy secondhand clothing and alter it using my grandmother's sewing machine, adjusting the fit, changing details, and making each piece feel more like me. I didn't just want to wear clothes; I wanted to use fashion to make everyday life a little more beautiful.

Over time, I realized that what excited me most wasn't simply creating fashion. It was creating beautiful, practical pieces that people could use and enjoy every day.

That idea became my brand, Ngumabi.

Today, I create simple, everyday accessories designed to be both useful and beautiful. From tote bags and scrunchies to earrings and other handmade pieces, every item is made with the belief that everyday essentials should do more than serve a purpose—they should bring a little joy to the people who use them.
